Finding it difficult to talk to cousins overseas? Cannot afford ISD calls? Then here is the solution for it, use skype! Skype is very precious and beneficial software for people who have cousins and relatives spread all over the world. Skype is the software which allows people to make calls over the internet which is otherwise called as voice over IP facility. Skype provides excellent sound quality and the best part is it is free of cost. A person can talk to anyone he/she wishes to for free.
To use skype a person needs to download and install skype. The person should have internet access, windows or Mac computer, a headset with speakerphone and a microphone. If the person wishes to have video calls he/she might have to make use of a webcam.
It can be downloaded like any other software. The download doesn't cost anything. Next he/she will have to install it and create an account by clicking on join option and filling a simple form and setting up a personal unique user name.
After logging into his/her account the person can add contacts by searching for the other person's email ID or skype name. After adding contacts, if the user wants to make calls for free he is supposed to attach the speaker and microphone to his/her computer. Anyone can make calls by selecting a contact and selecting the green call button. Once the button is clicked a ring will be heard on the other end. If the call made by the user is received, communication can take place for hours together. To end the call, do it by just clicking the red button.
In this way anyone can talk to their relatives for free provided he/she has a skype account. There is one drawback of skype that is that the person with whom the user wants to make a voice call or a video call must be online at the same as the user is. However, this problem can be dealt with easily.
